The Super rare poet! Volume 1

William Blake

Traverse poetry trading cards are a mixture of contemporary and long-loved poems. Our Super_rare poet is literary giant William Blake.

Blake was a visionary English poet, painter and printmaker. He struggled to get recognition during his lifetime, but is now considered to be a seminal figure in poetry and the visual arts. As a poet, he is probably best known for the poems ‘The Tyger’, and ‘Milton a Poem’ (from which the well loved hymn ‘Jersusalem’ comes) as well as the books Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience.

The Super_rare card

The poem we’ve chosen for Traverse, ‘A Divine Image’, is Blake’s own response to his longer, and more famous poem, ‘The Divine Image’ (from Songs of Innocence). This trading card has an imbedded chip that will take the owner directly to a video of poet David Constantine reading the poem and talking about Blake and his work. All you need to do is hold it to the back of your Android or Microsoft smart phone, or, if you have an iPhone scan the QR code, and you’ll be transported to the exclusive video webpage.

If you’re lucky to get this card in your Traverse pack, hold on to it and add it quickly to your collection – they really are super rare.
